Fordham Hawks make the tree to building nest move
Rob Jett reports on his excellent The City Birder blog, that the Fordham Campus Red-tailed Hawks have made the move from tree nesting to building nesting.
This makes the fourth New York City building nest I’ve heard reports of:
Fifth Avenue
Bronx Fire Escape (2004) (Daily News, NYC DEP)
Central Park South
Fordham Campus
Update: I forgot about the St. John the Divine (200?-?) nest, which would make five. If you know of other building nests in NYC, please leave a comment.
Nest Building On C.P.S.
After arriving at Central Park South around 2:15 p.m. on President’s Day, it took me awhile to find our two Trump Parc Red-tailed Hawks. I finally found them both on the northeast corner of the Trump International Hotel and Towers, at 61st and Central Park West.
Charlotte on Nest
Veronica G., who has the good fortune to have a view of the Trump Parc Nest from her kitchen, reports that Charlotte was sitting on the nest this morning at 7:15 a.m. She also reports that the volume of twigs on the nest has increased. Let the fun begin, again!
