The nest which is now above the statue of St. Peter about ten feet has three eyasses this year. With the construction over next door, and the nest bigger than last year, the parents seem back to a normal pattern this year.
The nest which is now above the statue of St. Peter about ten feet has three eyasses this year. With the construction over next door, and the nest bigger than last year, the parents seem back to a normal pattern this year.
The two eyasses are looking a great deal older than the last time I saw them. Fluffy gray bodies have given way to brown wings and orange chests. There mother was just finishing up a feeding when I arrived.
The only child at Washington Square Park is getting lots of TLC from its parents. These pictures are from Saturday.
The Tompkins Square Park hawks look fantastic. They’re doing well in their tree nest after two years on air conditioners. All three youngsters look healthy and well fed.
I’ve gotten behind in processing photos and video over the last few days. These are pictures of the Fifth Avenue nest from Thursday evening.
The eyasses at Fifth Avenue are getting big enough that a visit to the nest is a rewarding visit even without watching a feeding. I had a lot of fun watching them this evening.
